manually input IP adress to connect
domexie
Since VD now supports multiple displays, using it for work on the go has become a viable option. The problem is that my NAT environment doesn't allow VD to establish a connection. I can set up a virtual local area network using Tailscale, which theoretically should allow a connection. However, it seems that the headset-side VD does not attempt to traverse the virtual addresses provided by Tailscale. I hope that adding a manual IP address input feature on the headset side might enable a successful connection in this scenario.

In my opinion, supporting manual IP address input has many advantages.
1) For some users who have multiple routers at home and are not very proficient in networking, there may be multiple levels of NAT, resulting in more than one subnet. At this time, LAN based network discovery protocal will fails to discover PCs located in another subnet. Manually entering the IP address can solve this problem.
2) For some users who are trying to challenge "cloud" streaming, manually entering the IP address can avoid being forced to use the L2 VPN protocol. L3 networking is usually more performant and easier than L2 networking. For example, a WireGuard-based solution.
